Writer-Director
I’m Mokeshwaran Nakkeeran, an independent writer and filmmaker who is deeply passionate about storytelling. My experience in architecture and interior design allows me to approach film in a unique way, creating spaces, environments, and narratives that resonate with everyday audiences. I believe in making films that connect emotionally, capturing the essence of human experiences through the art of visual storytelling.
Everything starts with pre-production, which is a stage I truly enjoy as a writer-director. First, I write a gripping screenplay, divide it into digestible chunks, then make thorough storyboards to help me see each scene. Creating production budgets and timelines to keep things moving forward is my strongest point. I work closely with the casting crew to choose the most competent actors and conduct rehearsals to ensure genuine performances. My expertise in architecture allows me to be an excellent location scout and set designer, selecting areas that complement the story’s emotional tone and providing a strong basis for a seamless shot.
In the production phase of filmmaking, my role as a director is to bring the vision of the script to life on screen. This involves leading the entire team, ensuring that the creative elements align with the story’s intent, and making real-time decisions to keep the shoot on track. I work closely with the cast to guide their performances, ensuring each actor’s portrayal reflects the emotional tone and depth of their character.
In order to make sure that the film’s pacing, tone, and flow complement the narrative, I work closely with editors as a director during the post-production stage to shape the finished product. I refine every element while collaborating with the music and sound design teams to improve the mood and emotional effect. My objective is to weave together the narrative, sound, and visual components into a seamless, impactful end product that appeals to the viewer.
